What size should I buy for a queen size bed?
It is also important to consider the depth of your mattress before purchasing your fitted queen sheets. Standard queen bed sheets are typically 33cm to 40cm deep. These will comfortably fit a standard queen bed mattress. If you have a pillow top or a pillow top and bottom queen bed mattress however, you may need to consider a deeper fitted sheet. The two sizes to fit deeper mattresses are:
- Mega Queen bed sheets - These are 50cm deep and will generally fit a pillow top queen mattress.
- Deluxe Queen bed sheets - These are 60cm deep and will fit pillow top and bottom queen mattresses.
Are all queen size sheets the same size?
Unfortunately, with so many different suppliers and approaches to product sizing, the answer is no. While Australian queen size sheets are generally designed to fit mattresses that are 152cm wide and 203cm long, there can be slight variations (typically 1-5 cm) in size across different brands and styles.
